By road
If you drive north of Chester (England): M56, then the A5117 and A550. At Queensferry you take the A494 and after a few miles you go westbound on the A55. If you drive south of Chester: go westbound on the A55. Continue the A55 until just after Colwyn Bay. Then you can take the quick route or the scenic one.
Quick route: continue the A55 until you reach the A487, southwest of Bangor. Here you take the direction Caernarfon. In Caernarfon take the A4085 to Beddgelert. After approximately 10 miles you will arrive in Rhyd Ddu. Our B&B lies on this road on the right hand side (100 yards after the pub).
Scenic route: just after Colwyn Bay take the A470 southbound (direction: Betws-y-Coed). In Betws-y-Coed take the A5 westbound (direction: Bangor). Just after Capel Curig make a left into the A4086 (direction: Beddgelert). After a few miles the A4086 heads to Llanberis, but you go on the A498 to Beddgelert. In this village you take the A4085 in northerly direction towards Caernarfon. After approximately 4 miles you enter Rhyd Ddu. Tŷ Mawr is located on the left of the village.
By air The best thing to do is to fly to John Lennon Airport in Liverpool. Hire a car and drive in easterly and southerly direction to the M56, go westbound here and towards Chester. After that use the description from the top. You can also fly to Manchester Airport. From here drive to the M56 and follow the signs to Chester and north Wales.
